It’s My Kind of Town

Well, it’s finished! (Or half-finished.) No, not my book–after many all-nighters pulled by my amazing (if I do say so myself) husband, Arise the Dawn’s pre-release CD is ready to go, just in time for their show in Gurnee, Illinois this Friday. (6 p.m. at the Village Church of Gurnee, if you’re in the Chicago area and want to drop by.) Also, they posted their first song on MySpace, so if you’ve been burning with curiosity about what these boys sound like, you can check them out without being in danger of getting swept into a mosh pit.

(Disclaimer: I tried to convince them not to name the song “Cupcake.” Or more accurately, I tried to convince Aaron not to let them name the song “Cupcake.” But alas… :-P)

Now, I have to get packed for Chicago. Since we’re heading down there anyway, we decided to bring the boys and spend a few days visiting museums, hanging out at Navy Pier, and eating deep-dish pizza. (Yum!)
